LWYRUP is the secure bridge between clients and law firm – we are an intermediary, not a legal services provider. Legal advice is given solely by you. This page explains the benefits of joining, the requirements and how to get started.

What LWYRUP brings you

  • Pre-qualified matters. Before a case reaches you, we structure it automatically (photo or voice recording from the client) and check formal requirements – such as legal aid eligibility or jurisdiction.
  • Clean file from the start. You receive the original documents, an AI-assisted summary, identified deadlines and a suggested workflow. The mandate relationship and the file belong to you.
  • Clients without acquisition effort. We build reach through the public workflows and route matters in your area of law and region to you.
  • Multilingual mandates. The app serves six languages (DE, EN, FR, ES, PT-BR, AR). Matters arrive translated; original documents remain unchanged.
  • Secured fees. Legal aid cases are advanced via LWYRUP; remuneration and deferral rules are set out in the agreement.

What you provide

  • You are an attorney admitted to practise in Germany.
  • You take on the legal advice and representation in the classic sense – intake, conflict check, advice and, where applicable, representation.
  • You maintain attorney-client privilege. The LWYRUP communication channel is end-to-end encrypted; no obligation beyond what is customary arises for you.
  • You respond within a reasonable time via the LWYRUP channel (chat/video) or transfer the matter in a structured way into your firm software.
  • For legal aid cases you observe the applicable obligations (BerHG, RVG). The platform supports filing and billing technically.

How it works technically

  • Your own key pair. During onboarding, your lawyer client generates a digital key pair. The private key stays in your hardware keystore; LWYRUP only knows your public key.
  • Sealed-box client channel. Clients encrypt their content directly for your public key. We technically cannot read it in transit.
  • No interference with your firm software. You can keep the mandate in parallel to your existing file or export matters (PDF, ZIP). No integration is required.
  • Data processing exclusively in the EU. Servers in Germany, no Google services, no third-country transfers.
  • Open-source components. The cryptographic building blocks (X25519, AES-256-GCM, HKDF) are documented and verifiable.

Contractual basis

  • Framework agreement with LWYRUP. Covers intermediation and communication services, platform remuneration, confidentiality, data processing under Art. 28 GDPR and legal aid handling.
  • Mandate directly with clients. The mandate arises directly between the client and your firm; LWYRUP becomes neither a party nor a sub-representative.
  • Professional duties remain unchanged. BORA, RVG, FAO and the applicable codes of conduct of your Bar Chamber apply in full.

How to apply

Joining later will run via the lawyer onboarding: there you enter your bar chamber data, generate your key pair, declare your areas of law and languages and sign the framework agreement digitally.
