Getting started

Setup takes a few minutes. After that you submit your matter by photo or voice – no form.

What to have at hand

• Your federal state (you select it – no GPS).
• An email address and a phone number – each confirmed once via a code.
• Your letter or matter (e.g. a decision letter to photograph).
• About five minutes and a safe place for your key backup.

Your digital key pair

Instead of a password, LWYRUP uses a digital key pair. The app generates it on your device during setup:

• The private key stays on the device and never leaves it.
• You register the public key with LWYRUP.
• Sign-in is a cryptographic challenge – no secret is transmitted that could surface in a data breach or be phished.

You back up the private key as a QR code. Whoever holds it has access – keep it safe. To switch devices, scan it. Background under Security.

In four steps

1. Get the app – iPhone, Android (Google Play), or directly as an APK for GrapheneOS. See Get the app.
2. Set up – confirm email and phone; the key pair is generated and you back up the QR code.
3. Capture your matter – photograph the letter or speak your matter.
4. A law firm takes over – a specialised firm responds over the encrypted channel.

What does it cost?

It depends on the matter. Often legal aid (Beratungshilfe) applies – state-funded, with a small contribution or none. Details under Legal aid.
